Nepal 2026

In November 2026 The Black Clan will trek to Everest Base Camp to help raise vital funds for the people of Nepal.

Initial Project

Fundraising for the Shree Changesthan Secondary School

Our aim is to raise as much money as we can to help a school in the Solukhumbu region of Nepal that was badly affected by the devastating earthquake of 2015.

After 11 years the school is still recovering from the shockwaves of the impact that the earthquake had....desperately trying to recover and and rebuild whilst providing education for its 300 students. We aim to provide funding to enable the school to complete a series of projects to improve the conditions of the school.

Every single penny that you can donate will be sent over to Nepal to enable the school to make some significant changes. A little money goes a long way and the benefits that the children will feel will last a lifetime.

The first project is to provide renovation to the dormitories that will enable the children from surrounding regions to safely and comfortably stay at school during the week. As our relationship with the school grows we will continue to support the school in further projects.

Follow our story, from the start of the trek, all the way to Everest Base Camp and then see the renovations as they happen with regular updates from the school.

secondary Project

A secondary project has been highlighted that could benefit from any 'overflow' funds that we may have ~ The Himalayan Permaculture Project which is based in West Nepal.

Permaculture is a regenerative design system for land management and human settlement, inspired by natural ecosystems to create sustainable, closed-loop systems.

The project educates farmers in the principles of permaculture and offers continuing support and guidance as they put into practice the ideas with their own farms.

A part of this project is to plant trees and it costs just £1.50 to plant a tree.

2026 flooding in Nepal

In light of the 2026 flooding crisis in Nepal we are going to support the school project as promised and then with all additional funds raised, support projects to assist with the enormous task of rebuilding and supporting families in villages hit by the flooding.

Further details to follow.

follow the trek

The Black Clan is a group of keen walkers that are all part of Glenn Black's YouTube Channel's 'Black Crag' Patreon Group. Walkers of all ages and backgrounds that have come together by a shared love of walking and the outdoors, all brought together by Glenn. This will be the second sighting of Everest for Glenn as he has been to Everest Base Camp in 2019. But for the other 19 members, this will be the first time! Glenn had stated that it was important that we raise money to 'give something back' to the amazing Nepalese people, and this project and the monies that you donate will resonate and be felt for years and generations to come...
